A reader of my site was commenting on how he enjoys chatting with Filipinas online in order to meet new friends. Heīs right.there are many Filipina girls online looking to meet guys whether from here or abroad. Even my own cousin is due to get her ass kicked from me for her rendezvous last week with a boy of whom I donīt approve that she met online. That said, I must say this about Filipinas: 95% of the time, talking to us in person is not the same as talking to us online! Online, Filipinas have beer muscles. Weīre bold, frank, tough, and brutally honest. We are the epitome of internet tough-girls (my play on telephone tough-guys) . In person, we melt like 5 Peso ice cream cones in the Philippines sun at high noon. Now I canīt say this is true for me, but then again, my testosterone levels have been measured by my doctor to be high for a woman. For the rest of my fellow Asian girls, we need a little bit of help in the balls department.

So I say onto thee, thy friends who haveth fallen in love online.DONīT DO IT. If you can afford to fly out here, the sooner you do it the better. That way, youīll know first hand whether you are compatible in person or not. As I said above, Filipinas and other Asian girls from the 3rd world are not aggressive like ladies from the West. Ok, maybe we are after we start to feel comfortable around you, but be aware that it takes time for our walls to be broken down. This is especially true if you are a foreigner and are speaking a language that is not our first language. While we understand every word that you say, it doesnīt carry the same strength or meaning it would if spoken in our native tongue. Again, this doesnīt go 100% for me since English is my first written language while Filipino is my first spoken one. For me thereīs a balance. But for most Filipina girls that youīll meet while hanging around in chatrooms, the opposite is true.

Obviously the internet is a great place to meet people. But as I said a few days ago, be patient, be cynical, be cautious, or whatever you need to do to make sure you know exactly what you are getting yourself into. I canīt begin to tell you how many guys Iīve talked to who thought they met their princess, only to realize their dream girl, in person, was about as interesting and lively as a dehydrated clam. Itīs even worse when you waste months or years figuring it out.
